Welcome, my name is Jason Gillery. I am a Relate trained Psychosexual Therapist, Relationship and Young Person’ counsellor (age 10+). I Have worked  with a wide range of  individuals, couples and young people through my time at Relate Mid-Yorkshire and Relate National from 2011 to 2019.

I set up my own private practice 6 years ago.

During my work at Relate National I worked as a Clinical Supervisor  and counsellor, delivering  face to face, live chat, webcam, telephone and  email counselling.

I worked for 7 years as a trustee and counsellor for the charity Survive in York. Helping and supporting adult survivors in dealing with the trauma of sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault.

I work with their partners and couples, which can be helpful in the understanding of the impacts and how to manage their relationships and sex lives in a good way.

During my time with Relate I  worked on a number of projects including iRelate, a project working in conjunction with schools across the country supporting young people online. I was also involved on a pilot project  working online supporting parents of troubled teens through Relate National. I am a trained trainer and have helped deliver training to parents of teens, aswell as training other counsellors in working online and by telephone.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is the most important aspect in working towards change and helping you  to get to where you want to be. I work in an empathic, non – judgemental and an integrative way. Meaning that I work with a range of theories and use the theories which suits you the clients needs the most. After all we are all different and what works for one doesn’t for another.

I have regular supervision, both individually and as part of a group of qualified counsellors. I am member of the British Association for Counselling Psychotherapy (BACP) and the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).

Since qualifying, I have helped clients, male and female, young and old, with a range of issues. Such as low sexual desire, premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, vaginismus, depression, relationship issues, addictions, stress, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, bullying, parents separating, anti social behaviour and anger in young people, as well as issues surrounding sexuality, sexual and domestic abuse.

I offer counselling and psychosexual therapy in York, I work from home in a comfortable environment  located in (YO24). Outside on street parking available. I offer sessions throughout the week daytime, evening and  weekend appointments are available .
